Ray Cashman is an American roots musician. He plays guitar, sings and writes, usually about life’s struggles and challenges. Filled with years of experience from travels and inspirations of Southern Gothic literature his songs are filled with passion and feeling and honesty and subtly be damned.

Cashman’s 2007 release Texassippi Stomp, which featured Jimbo Mathus , was placed on the nominated ballot for best traditional blues album of 2007 Grammy Awards. Though the album only did modestly well, it was widely praised and placed on a number of critics year end best of lists.

Since 2001, Cashman has played an average of 100 shows a year in North America and Europe. Cashman has released Five full lenth albums. The latest being 2015 all acoustic "Desolation". Cashman resides in the hills outside of Nashville, TN.
